Making Google Adsense Work For Your Website
I have written some articles before about how to make money using Google Adsense but I still get questions asking if it’s really possible to make money with Adsense. The simple answer is yes. The next question is how? It’s the how that takes some time to answer.
Google Adsense has been around for a few years now and there have been many books, ebooks and online seminars from just about everyone about how it’s done. To be perfectly honest there is no simple way. Creating a website or blog and posting numerous Adsense ads around your content will not make you rich overnight. It’s a good start but just a small part of what you need to do to make substantial Adsense money.
Good planning and a fair amount of effort will go a long way to being successful with Adsense. If anyone is trying to peddle a sure fire Adsense product don’t believe it. Over the years I’ve tried my share of Adsense related products only to find that my own common sense and hard work was the most beneficial. If you are interested in creating sustainable Adsense Income read on.
Adsense ads are keyed off of prominent keywords on your website or blog. Google doesn’t share its code but what is known is that Adsense ads are driven by the prominent keywords in your content, your meta information and the title headers on your pages. So for example if your website is about fishing tackle then your Adsense ads will advertise fishing gear and tackle assuming that your content is about fishing tackle.
All keywords are not the same, that is some pay better than others when it comes to Adsense. Keyword value is based essentially on the competitiveness of the keyword niche. Google shares some of the profit with Adsense publishers although only Google knows how much that percentage is. Obviously the higher cost to advertise results in a higher a better payout to the Adsense publisher.
Let’s take Google for example. You could “back in” to a good idea of the value of a keyword, by using Google’s Keyword Estimate Tool. You should probably sign up for a free Adwords account first and play around with the keyword tool to get an idea how much it would cost to be in the top three positions for a keyword to get an idea of its value.
As with everything on the Internet you can find high paying keyword lists by doing a simple search at Google. The only issue with this method is that you may find high paying keywords in niches that you know nothing about. “Mesothelioma Lawyers,” for example has a payout estimate of over $60 per click. That means that anyone who wants to advertise for that search term would have to pay $60 per click to be in the top three paid advertising positions.
So tailoring your website or blog to list just high paying keywords might be fruitless because it would appear to the search engines that you were only using them to get a higher payout. A better way to look at it is to find the highest paying keywords within your niche and write content utilizing them.
