Many often ask do Facebook ads work. Well, yes they do get a few clicks but if asked do they get as many clicks Google AdWords, that answer would be no.

The reason Google ads get more clicks is because if someone clicks on an ad from there, they more than likely came to there to search for whatever ads they are clicking on anyway and are more serious about buying your product or service. Facebook ads are clicked maybe just because they happen to be there at the right time, not because the person is interested in spending any money.

This is not to say that Facebook ads are not an effective way to advertise, because it can be. The only difference is your ad most be seen quite a few times before a Facebooker will click on it. You can’t really judge your click through rate as a level of effectiveness, you must rate it by profits generates.

So many marketers give Facebook a bad review due to the fact that they review their ad campaigns in terms how many clicks their ad receives. Now if you are paying per click for your advertising, then I guess this wouldn’t matter. If you are making money, that’s what matters.

If you are selling a product then it will be easier to check your profits and compare that to the cost of advertising to see if your advertising has been effective for you.

If your research finds that you are making $200 from an ad worth $100, then your advertisement was effective, but you still need to decide if the amount made was worth the amount you spent and the effort that went into the ad.

To improve the performance of your Facebook ad is to compare the results from different ads and use the ones that produce the highest profit.

In order to do that, you need to run a few different ads and then review the results.
