Advantages of Article Marketing

In the time before the Internet, marketing using articles was an effective method for promoting products and services. The need for well written articles and newsletters has exploded with the new online options that include newsletters, ezines, and web sites. Due to this marketing with articles has grown in popularity.

Article marketing involves a writer providing well-crafted content for distribution to various e-publishers and websites and, in return, receiving a brief blurb about his or her business and contact information. A link to the business owner’s website is generally included in these so-called “bios.”

For a business owner, offering content for publication basically provides them with free ad space on thousands of websites all over the world. There is a compelling opportunity for exposure to the right customers in the right market, while the expense is next to nothing, which makes the practice a powerful and quite elegant method for a business’s communication.

Article marketing specifically focuses on a willing audience, rather than other methods, such as using e-mail campaigns for lead generation. This results in a much higher response rate. Readers have volunteered to receive the information, so they are naturally more open to its contents, and more likely to seek out the author’s website to read more

When a publisher decides to use an article they commonly have a market of possible purchasers. When readers take interest in an article they may also be interested in purchasing the services and products that relate to that article. The cost to acquire a list of these targeted leads would be unspeakable. Creating an article only requires putting in the time necessary to create it.

Business owners can up their conversion rates even more by providing a link to specific bits of information in the author’s bio. Instead of linking to the home page, authors can include a link to an external article hosted on their own site that provides more detail on the topic at hand. Visitors are more likely to search for specific information in addition to what is provided on the initial page.

You can improve the conversion rates more by publishing an email address for them in subscribing to the author’s maintained newsletter or website. In making the desired action as easy as possible for your readers you increase the likelihood of them doing so. An auto-response may be able to be sent to new signup links by features of the author’s website.

By giving publishers in related fields access to certain content, a business can expect an increase in website traffic at minimal cost, qualified lead production, and a significant improvement in brand awareness and sales.
